Frequently asked questions

As the name suggests, the new e-visa (electronic visa) is no longer physical. Instead, you get a code with which you can complete the Customs and Health Declaration (D’Viajeros) 7 days before departure. Physical tourist cards will continue to be valid for use until the end of 2024.

There is no difference, it is the same document. Tourist cards act as visas to enter the country for tourism purposes only. Some people call them tourist visas or just “visas” and others call them tourist cards. Do note that tourist cards have been replaced by tourist evisas although existing tourist cards can be used throughout 2024.

Everyone going to Cuba for the purpose of tourism requires a tourist visa. Airlines will not allow you to board your flight to Cuba if you do not have one. Please note that all persons, including infants, will need to apply for a tourist visa before their trip unless you hold a passport from a nation that has a visa-waiver agreement with Cuba.

The Cuban Immigration Service has provided a list of countries whose citizens are not required to obtain tourist visas. However, we cannot ensure the accuracy or currency of this information. Therefore, if you are a citizen of any listed country, we advise contacting your nearest Cuban Embassy/Consulate for verification. Please note that if you purchase a tourist visa and later discover it is unnecessary, we regret to inform you that refunds will not be possible. The countries whose citizens can travel visa-free are:

Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia,Azerbaijan, Barbados, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, China, Dominica, Georgia, Grenada, Liechtenstein, Malaysia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Namibia, Namibia, North Macedonia, Russia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Serbia, Singapore, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan

Also keep in mind that there are restricted nationalities that cannot enter Cuba with a tourist visa (see Q.6) . These nationalities will not be able to place an order on our website. Instead they will need to contact the nearest Cuban embassy/consulate.
