Blue Diamond Resorts unveils a new adults-only resort in Cayo Cruz.
Blue Diamond Resorts Cuba has announced the grand opening of Sanctuary White Sands on Friday, March 1st, which was hailed by Travel Trade Caribbean as an "innovative addition" to the Canadian chain's collection of adults-only, all-inclusive properties.
This unveiling signifies a significant milestone for the hotel company, as Sanctuary Resort becomes its inaugural venture in the sought-after destination of Cayo Cruz.
Mohamad Fawzi, General Manager of Blue Diamond Resorts Cuba, expressed, "While our guests have long enjoyed distinctive all-inclusive experiences at our Grand Memories Resorts, relishing in the family-friendly ambiance of the Grand Memories area and the exclusive adult allure of Sanctuary, we identified a distinctive opportunity to tailor experiences for adults."
He further added, "We view this destination as the ideal backdrop to unveil our latest offering to the market through this exclusive adults-only resort."
Situated in Cayo Cruz, dubbed a "hidden gem in the Jardines del Rey archipelago" by Travel Trade Caribbean, Sanctuary White Sands boasts 528 rooms adorned with a modern aesthetic, some affording picturesque views of the garden, pool, or sea.
The resort features a diverse array of outdoor sports and activities, including water sports, along with four restaurants specializing in Mediterranean, Italian, Cuban, and international cuisines.
The management of Sanctuary White Sands underscored their commitment to "preserving the natural environment and rich cultural heritage of Cuba."
Blue Diamond Resorts continues to expand its presence in Cuba, where it currently manages 34 hotels, surpassing Meliá with 33 properties under its operation. Recently, the three newest and top hotels in the city of Holguín have been rebranded as Mystique Saratoga, a brand owned by the Canadian hotel chain.
Furthermore, the company, which also owns the Sunwing airline, has aggressively expanded in Cuba, exclusively managing the tourist destination of Cayo Largo del Sur, giving it unprecedented authority in the sector.
Additionally, plans are underway for Blue Diamond Resorts to take over the Hotel Colony on the Isle of Youth.
Despite challenges, including the Cuban tourism industry's struggle to rebound to pre-2019 levels, Juan Carlos García Granda, Minister of Tourism, remains focused on maintaining service quality, setting a target of attracting over three million tourists this year.
Since its inception in 2010, Blue Diamond Resorts has emerged as the Caribbean's fastest-growing hotel management company, boasting over fifty properties and more than 18,000 rooms across ten countries, with Cuba at the forefront of its portfolio.
